In late 2000, Jacob D’Aniello, the founder of DoodyCalls, had the idea to create a pet waste management company after hearing an interview with a business owner who praised the lucrative potential of the dog poop removal industry. The business owner described the benefits of running such a company, including a good income, flexible hours, and low responsibilities, all while meeting the high demand from clients who valued the service and kept coming back.

Inspired by this, Jacob launched DoodyCalls the following week, and soon after, the company began receiving an overwhelming number of inquiries from both residential and commercial clients. By 2004, Jacob and his partner Susan had left their previous jobs to focus on DoodyCalls full-time. The business expanded its operations by establishing headquarters in the Washington DC area and started franchising across the country.
